With a humid tropical climate, it concentrates a large part of the tourist and commercial activity in the region, being the third most sought after city after Lima and Cusco and one of the most visited by Peruvians. To the north is the regional conservation area of the Cordillera Escalera within the South American tropical humid forest and to the south is a fertile valley with crops of rice, corn, coffee, cocoa, tobacco and various agricultural products, with seasonally dry Neotropical forests.
The hotel rooms are equipped with a wardrobe, a balcony overlooking the garden, a private bathroom, a flat-screen TV, bed linen and towels. Villa Lu Amazon Lodge offers some units with pool views, and all rooms are equipped with a terrace. All have minibars.
